We have seen a lot of progress of the last few weeks!   Our new water well is installed and functioning. We are waiting on the Edwards Aquifer to give us the ‘go ahead’ on plugging the old well.  As you can see from the pics and video, the excavators have continued to work around the old well.  They should be able to plug it in the next 2 days.  [ Read More ]

krauss

From Will Krauss: When the Krauss family first came to PromiseLand many years ago we noticed was there was an abundance of life and activity. We quickly caught Pastor Robin’s vision and knew in a good way that there was something truly different at PSM. I remember the church service where Pastor Robin was speaking about raising money so that the church could take out a loan for a building.  [ Read More ]

well

On Monday, our well contractor began drilling our new well. This is the first step in the process of building the new facility.  Our current well is underneath the new building, so we have to drill a new one and cap the old one.  The new well ‘facility’ is a huge upgrade from the current one.  It is now a ‘public drinking’ well which means that we will have to  [ Read More ]

On Sunday, December 4th, we officially broke ground during our morning worship services! Pastor Robin said, “I am going to speak a bit, then we are going to take one of the biggest offerings in our history, then we are going to go outside and break ground.”  ALL THREE HAPPENED! Pastor Robin’s message talked about the importance of faith and works.  It is free to dream dreams and cast vision.  [ Read More ]

One of our original goals for Greater Things was to launch a new church in the US.  That goal has been in the shadow of our new facility plans.  Building a new building has been priority #1 and taken most of our creative thought and finances.  However, the goal of planting a new church has remained in our scope. A huge milestone was crossed this week!

That’s What I’m Talking About!

sitepermit

Today, we received our final permit needed to begin construction!   This one was from the City of San Marcos.  (we already obtained permits from the County of Hays, and State of Texas TCEQ, and the Edwards Aquifer Authority) We have a meeting scheduled for early next week with our general contractor and architect to discuss the schedule of construction and the final plans for remodeling our existing building.

We are Officially in the Next Phase of Greater Things!

On November 2nd, PromiseLand San Marcos voted unanimously to approve the Prosperity Bank loan proposal and proceed with constructing the new worship facility. We were offered 3 loan proposals.  Share Financial offered a bond package, Ozona National Bank and Prosperity offered traditional loan packages.  The church elders examined each other thoroughly and finally agreed to present the Prosperity loan to the church for an official vote.  Pastor Robin and the  [ Read More ]

We have been working like crazy this summer to continue our building process. PERMITS We are so thankful to Rob Steele (pastor’s father) for volunteering about 30 hours a week to continue the grueling task of getting permits issued.  Because of where our property is located, we have to obtain permits from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), City of San Marcos, and Hays County. The TCEQ regulates how  [ Read More ]
