We have seen huge progress this month. The steel has gone up, the roof is secured, the air conditioning is being installed, the electric and wood framing has begun.

We have seen the parking lot paved, the slab has been poured, and the steel has started being erected.  We are seeing it change before our eyes everyday.  Very soon we will be announcing a church-wide workday to landscape our new parking lot ‘islands’.  We would love for you to help us out.  Stay tuned for more details.  You can always check our Facebook “person“ for pics.

We anticipate the walls, frame, roof to be finished within 2-3 weeks.  After that, all the interior work will begin. That includes: electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, lighting, etc.  Our septic system will be completed within the next week.

Easter Sunday was tremendous.  We had a record number of people here in San Marcos, online, in Waco, and at Gary Job Corp.  We are so thankful to all the volunteers and leaders who helped out.  Here are some pics.

We are inviting everyone who has financially sown into “Greater Things” to a special night called “Greater Thanks!”  We will be sharing some insight on the next 12 months and giving everyone an opportunity to place a prayer or scripture into the foundation of our new building.

We will cap the night off with fantastic dessert. Yum!  Childcare will be provided!

Tuesday, MARCH 20th, 7pm

Our contractor is anticipating the steel erection to begin around March 20th.  We are moving!

This week we mailed letters to all the people who financially pledged to support Greater Things. We gave an update on how the process is working.

Offerings have been very healthy.  People have been giving sacrificially.  Therefore, our financial burden has weakened.  We want to finish this Greater Things Initiative strong!  In 2012, we need everyone to continue to give the way you did in 2011.  Please consider continuing your Greater Things pledge throughout 2012.  If you were unable to give in 2011, please consider fulfilling that commitment in 2012.  We are seeing the vision come to pass! This is awesome.

As I am sure you can tell by driving by on Sunday, we are OUT OF SPACE in our current building and parking lot.  In fact, we had to add 2 additional services to create space.  For the last several years, we have been planning and saving money to build a new worship facility and parking lot.  In 2011, that vision became a reality.

We are building a new building that will serve as our sanctuary. It will seat around 700.  We are adding more parking slots as well.  Our existing building will be remodeled and be home to our children’s and youth ministry.

We are making room for you!  Actually, our 8:30am and our 11:30am services have space right now.  Come on and join us! God is doing Greater Things in all of our lives through our Faith in Him!

• Our new water well is installed and functioning. We are waiting on the Edwards Aquifer to give us the ‘go ahead’ on plugging the old well.  As you can see from the pics and video, the excavators have continued to work around the old well.  They should be able to plug it in the next 2 days.
• The preparation for the building foundation is underway. The dirt under the slab has been spread and compacted.  They are surveying today to make sure it is all at the right height.  The concrete contractor will be out next week to begin setting the forms for concrete.  In the meantime, the other contractors will begin preparation for wiring and plumbing.
• The ‘site work’ crew is working on trenches and ‘swells’ to help rain water flow from our property.  This process is what we had to get the state of Texas to approve.  The contractors are shaping the dirt to make sure the water flows properly.
• We made an executive decision today to go ahead and complete the paving on the front parking lot of the church.  In the next two weeks the paving contractor will pave our entire front parking lot.  This is exciting!  You will see a completely new design (with medians and striping) and be able to park on pavement.  Fantastic!  Here is the reality…the extra paving was not in the original bid.  It is an additional $20,000.  We will make that payment before the end of the year.
• We made our first payment from the loan this week to the contractors. This draw was around $100,000.
• We are very pleased with our Contractor, Rizzo Construction.  Our superintendent is named Joe Christian.  How perfect is that? He is a great guy and strong Christian.
• Thanks to all the men and women who have already volunteered on the new Well House.  It is 95% completed.  We couldn’t have done it without you!!
• We have purchased a golf cart to escort people around the parking lot on Sundays!  Catch a ride if you need it. It should be in operation by Feb 19th.

When the Krauss family first came to PromiseLand many years ago we noticed was there was an abundance of life and activity. We quickly caught Pastor Robin’s vision and knew in a good way that there was something truly different at PSM. I remember the church service where Pastor Robin was speaking about raising money so that the church could take out a loan for a building. Pastor Robin was so transparent and opened his heart and allowed us to see how he truly lived the vision and was absolutely obedient to the path God had called him to walk. I was amazed how the entire church came together and converted a shell of a warehouse into a place of worship. I remember how we all wrote scriptures and prayers on the back church wall behind the stage. Those prayers and notes are still behind the sheetrock calling out to God.

I am extremely excited about this next year. God has provided for the wonderful work taking place in San Marcos and has called forth things that be not as though they were. In his own economy God has moved on so many hearts and provided the means to build a new sanctuary even in tough economic times. This new building will not be a meeting place, but a place where we can all grow closer to each other and to God. Once again we have an opportunity to use our talents and abilities to help build a new place of worship. I am so thankful to be a part of this family and the greater things He has prepared for us.
